Samsung Windows 7 Mobile users angry after update failure

Windows 7 updates for Samsung mobiles lead into problem after many users reported that devices are bricked when trying to install the software update.One of the user reported that his mobile is currently unusable even after hard reset.Lots of users were frustrated due to these error messages and many of the users even claim they have made a big mistake by opting for a Windows mobile rather than a Android mobile.


Many Samsung users reported that the Windows phone update released by Microsoft was giving some problems while installing the update.Microsoft spokesperson said that the company had identified an issue within the update and has disabled the update for Samsung phones.Users were confused whether they need to take u p the issue with Microsoft or the service provider.

$5000 from Google for Best Infographics

This blog post is especially for the people who are good in creating infographics. Google is offering a prize of $5000 for the best visualization on tax money. The contest was recently announced in the Google blog today for the site whatwepayfor.com created by couple of developers. The developers of the site has built an API for potential developers to access it

The contest starts today and ends on March 27th. The winner will be announced on April 18th. Earlier Google conducted a similar contest for a wedding planner site even though Google is not a site which is not popular for promotions and contests. 

Nexus One gets Android 3.0



The UI(User Interface)refresh has been one of the striking feature of Android 3.0 Honeycomb as a tablet only OS has been ported to Nexus One.Some tweaking is necessary to make the audio, bluetooth and Wi-fi features to be fully functional.

It has been reported that the next Android 2.4 Ice Cream update combines features from Gingerbread and Honeycomb. But now, with Honeycomb ported on the Nexus One, we surely hope this project takes off and doesn't halt like few-week novelty.

One has to perform some tricks to get the UI working in landscape orientation. The Honeycomb Alpha SDK ROM carries some modifications like the File Manager form the Cyanogen 7 pre-release Custom Rom, Terminal Emulator, QuickBoot for reboot and has been rooted.

Just in case you are going to try out this ROM on your phone, be warned that it might turn your phone into a telephony-less handset.

Windows 7 mobile and Bing ready for India launch


Microsoft's Windows 7 mobile and search engine 'Bing' will be launched into the Indian market.The date of launch of Windows 7 mobile has not been finalized yet. Amit Chatterje, Microsoft's Managing Director for R&D has said Bing will bring a totally different experience to the users.This was his first interaction with the reporters after taking charge as Managing Director of Microsoft(R&D) division.

Windows 7 mobile has good response from the users worldwide and I hope that Microsoft can expect the same response in India also and it will face stiff competition from Android users.He also confirmed 100 applications were being added to the App Store on a daily basis with users downloading at least one application everyday, reflecting the levels of acceptance of the product.

Microsoft Web Apps,the equivalent of Google apps has been launched in India which allows the users to create,edit,access and share documents of the Office suite which includes Excel, PowerPoint,word from any system with a internet connection.The service is absolutely free.

Microsoft Web Apps can be accessed from any browsers like Internet Explorer 7,Mozilla 3.5 or later with a hotmail id.The style,formatting,images and meta objects can be retained."Office Web Apps are a key piece of Microsoft's overall cloud strategy. Features like ease of sharing and high document fidelity make Office Web Apps a powerful enabler of productivity in the cloud for modern information workers and consumers alike. Moreover, this tool helps students collaborate on their school and college projects in a seamless way," said Sanjay Manchanda, Director, Microsoft Business Division.

Depletion of Internet Addresses reflects wired world

The supply of Internet addresses ran out after 30 years of it's creation on Thursday.It's not the time to panic as the transition should occur even without even being noticed.After the introduction of IPV4 standards,4 billion IP addresses were bumped up.The explosion of Internet in these 30 years has been enormous and Internet has been a integral part of our life and not to mention the popularity of Google and Facebook.

Already laptops, smartphones and web connected gadgets support IPv6, though Curran notes that according to some estimates less than 1 percent of Internet users may not have their equipment configured properly and will need to adjust their settings in the months ahead, as websites increasingly adopt the new standard.

There are 340 undecillion IPv6 addresses available. That's 340 trillion, trillion, trillion addresses which is equal to the size of sun.

Optimus 3D smartphone from LG





Imagine how a 3D smartphone gonna change the way you capture the images and the most important of all is that you don't need a glass see the 3D pictures. LG's Optimus 3D smartphone will be the first 3D smartphone to enter into the market.


Optimus 3D runs on Android Gingerbread v2.3 OS and powered by Nvidia Tegra Processor. The LG Optimus 3D features a 4.3 inch multi-touch display, 8 Megapixel 3D Camera, HD video playback and recording, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, HDMI out/DLNA and more.


The pricing and availability of Optimus 3D smartphone is yet to be known.

iPad 2 in May 2011

I-pad has really turned the attention of people to Tablet PCs'a and after the launch of I-pad,the markets saw a lot of other companies showing their interest towards Tablet PC's. according to the recent reports,production of I-pad 2 will be starting this month.the fifth generation of I-phones will begin in May.

The new model of iPad is likely to come with features like dual-core processor, dual cameras and a USB and an SD port. Some reports have claimed that the new iPad will come with a resolution of 2048 x 1536.I pad 2 is expected to be launched in May or June as the first generation I-pods are were launched in April last year.
